About Me

Everyone has a past. Everyone has a present. Everyone has a future.

This includes me.

My past has shaped me into the person I am today. My life experiences gave me the drive to help others that may be experiencing the same difficulties, or indeed any difficulties, unsure of how to proceed, how to cope and move forward.

Some of us have more than our fair share of life's thunder storms and I wish someone had offered me shelter, or at the very least an umbrella.

But I found my way 'out of the woods', can live in the present and know there is a future, regardless of the emotional scars from the past.

I believe that our past does not define us. We learn from it and it shapes us into who we are. Life throws obstacles at us all the time, some of these we can side step, others stop us in our tracks. I'm no different, we are all human after all and help is available.

I am qualified and experienced in various counselling techniques and approaches, but rather than using one technique rigidly, I prefer to use an integrative approach which utilises a variety of methods to suit the needs of each individual. After all, one size does not fit all, and we are all different. We are all unique and we are all individual, and I'm here for you - whether you need shelter or an umbrella.

I am fully insured and a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.

My job as a counsellor is to help you to identify and achieve your personal goals and to support you in coping, managing and ultimately overcoming the issues that are causing disharmony within your life by providing you with the relevant tools and techniques to achieve a balanced and more fulfilled life. I can also provide you with the confidence to handle future issues/situations whenever and wherever they arise.

I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients, and I look forward to helping you.

Please note that sessions do not involve walking through real woodland.
Woodland Walk Counselling is just the name of my service as a metaphor for life's journey as stated on the home page.
(However, should you wish to 'walk and talk' to enhance your well=being and ease any anxiety, this can be arranged at the time of booking and where appropriate. Sessions will remain at 50 minutes, start and end at the office with the last 10 minutes used for payment and re-booking purposes).
