What is Counselling?

Counselling is a talking therapy that allows you to talk about your problems and feelings in a secure, confidential environment with a trained professional.

Counselling isn't just working with a current issue or problem that has surfaced, it also helps you to deal with any deep rooted issues from your past that are affecting you here in the present.

Counselling is often seeked by those wanting to change something in their life in terms of emotional wellbeing.

A counsellor {or therapist} can not fix you or your problem, but can help you understand why you feel, or behave, the way you do. By uncovering root causes and your way of thinking, changes can be made to help you deal with your issues and coping strategies put in place.

Counselling is a journey. In order to be effective it requires time and consistency. Usually weekly sessions are advised to optimise the process of healing and to achieve the positive outcome you wish to see.

Whether you are experiencing an immediate crisis, such as bereavement or relationship break down, or you are experiencing more long term issues { anxiety, depression, feeling low}, or even if something from the past is stopping you from moving forward, get in touch.
